Letters to the Editor

A guide created by Physicians for a National Health Program (PNHP) for writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. The growing presence of PBM abuse, insurance reform, and other issues related to our healthcare system generally and pharmacy care specifically has been an important vehicle for spreading awareness and encouraging key stakeholders (e.g., state and federal legislators) to get involved.

Scripts & Templates

On this page you’ll find links to scripts and templates for calling and writing to/emailing your legislative representatives, respectfully. Given our pharmacy is located in Minnesota, sometimes we specifically mention our state’s legislator, but PBM abuse and related issues are national, not state-specific, and therefore the verbiage within can be easily adapted to fit the needs of voters from other states.

Find Your Representatives

Click below to be led to the website of Common Cause, a non-partisan non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to upholding the core values of American democracy. Their Find Your Representatives tool will help you learn who represents you across several levels of your state’s and the federal government, based on the street address where you’re registered to vote.

Video Tutorials

In our “How to: Legislative Advocacy” YouTube playlist you’ll find links to advocacy-related video tutorials, such as how to start your own letter writing campaign.
