Nutritional Counseling

Most drug therapies aren’t able to work their best
if we’re not also giving our bodies the fuel and nutrients they need.

Our Pharmacists are here to help you decide what additional supplements you may need to get the results you are looking for or as a result of nutrient depletion caused by a prescription medication you take.

In today’s market, not all supplements are created equal. In fact, many have been found to lack the ingredients stated on the label or contain compounds not listed on the label that could be harmful to the consumer. And to make matters more pressing, studies show that the majority of Americans are currently nutritionally undernourished... and that includes those of us who follow a “healthy” diet! This is mainly due to rapid and vast changes both in our food quality and the typical American diet. Some of the top deficiencies we see in our patients are vitamin D, magnesium, and vitamin B12.

We carry a variety of unique products to address issues associated with diseases such as osteoporosis and diabetes, as well as autoimmunity, mental health, stress management, and gastrointestinal conditions. We’ve partnered with Designs for Health, Klaire Labs, Ortho Molecular Products, Pure Encapsulations, Xymogen, and a number of other high-end nutritional companies to offer some of the best quality nutritional products available. Our largest and proudest selection features many of Ortho Molecular’s 200+ products, but if you’re looking for something specific that we don’t currently carry in our store we can order any product from these vendors with quick shipping and at no extra cost to you.

What makes a supplement “high-quality?”

Because the FDA regulates the safety and efficacy of nutritional supplements differently than traditional “drugs,” it’s easy for cheaper, low-quality products to make it to market. While high-quality nutritional supplements like the ones we carry at our store may seem expensive relative to other products, they’re well-worth the investment due to their increased safety, research-backed efficacy, and enhanced bioavailability (how well your body can absorb and utilize them). There’s no point in taking a nutritional supplement that your body isn’t able to use—that’s just money down the drain. High-quality nutritional supplements have the power to help prevent the development or progression of certain disease states (e.g., delaying the progression to neuropathy in patients taking Metformin) as well as prevent or decrease symptoms of nutritional deficiencies or side effects from taking certain prescription medications (e.g., Magnesium—which most people are deficient in—can improve sleep, headaches, and muscle cramps).

The Fantastic Five

In our Pharmacists’ opinion, most individuals living in the United States would benefit from taking a high-quality version of, at minimum, the following five nutritional supplements. Together, these products provide a strong foundation for overall wellness by giving our bodies the raw nutrients they need to thrive but, due to a number of factors, are difficult to get enough of from food alone.

  1. Magnesium (ask us about how to find the right dose for you!)

  2. Probiotic (switching up the kind you take on a regular basis—for example, changing every time you finish a bottle—will provide your gut with a good diversity of microbial friends!)

  3. Omega-3

  4. Vitamin D

  5. Multi-vitamin
