This soon-to-be-released docuseries will dig into how PBMs are extorting our nation’s healthcare system and decimating community-based pharmacy along the way. It will highlight the stories of patients like Cole Schmidtknecht, who tragically died from an asthma attack earlier this year when the price of his maintenance inhaler skyrocketed from about $35 to over $500—for no reason other than his insurance plan’s PBM decided it would.
That’s a cost that no patient should ever have to pay.

Cole Schmidtknecht was a quirky, funny kid, wise and curious beyond his years. His young life was cut short at just 22 years old after he suffered a cardiac arrest from a severe asthma attack. This fight is for all patients across the U.S. who have paid the life-altering, or even life-ending, price of PBM abuse.
