We’ve decided to officially adopt the 4 storm drains that surround our corner of the block—2 on Snelling Ave and 2 on St. Clair Ave. Keeping storm drains clean prevents flooding by allowing water to flow properly, protects water quality by keeping pollutants out of local waterways, safeguards infrastructure from water damage and erosion, and, ultimately, protects all wildlife (including us! ;p). Starting now through December 31st, we’ll be accepting recommendations for fun names for our 4 storm drains! At the new year, we’ll let our staff vote on the winners and will announce them here in the DOSE and on social media. Winners will receive a $25 gift card to SPCD and the opportunity to be featured on our social media accounts and the TV above our checkout counter (if they want—no pressure if you don’t!).
